StoryWalk Sunday March 2024

March 17 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

This month’s StoryWalk was moved to March 17 due to high winds on the original date (March 10).

Sign up below and join us on March 17!

StoryWalk® Sunday adventures for kids continue…

The story posted on the StoryWalk® trail at Pine Hill Park changes regularly, and a special story event accompanies each one on the second Sunday of select months.

The book for March is “When Spring Comes” by Kevin Henkes. We enjoyed Mr. Henkes’s book about winter in January and February.

Kids will join a guided walk along the story trail as they read the book, then make a special craft project to take home.

In this beautiful book, author Kevin Henkes uses imagery, repetition, and alliteration to introduce basic concepts of language and the changing of the seasons. Artist Laura Dronzek’s rich paintings show the transformation from quiet, cold winter to the newborn spring.

Before spring comes, the trees are dark sticks, the grass is brown, and the ground is covered in snow. But as time goes by, leaves unfurl and flowers blossom, the grass turns green, and the mounds of snow shrink and shrink. Spring brings baby birds, sprouting seeds, rain and mud, and puddles. You can feel it and smell it and hear it—and you can read it!

The event is FREE, but pre-registration is required by March 15.

NEW!! Fill in the registration form, below. Limited to 20 children.

For more information, email to: [email protected] or call 717-762-0373.

All families are welcome, but activities are geared for preschool and elementary age kids.

Stay tuned for future StoryWalk® Sundays!
