Building Our Bridge-I

After a groundbreaking ceremony on April 4, work on the new bridge got underway.

The new bridge—capable of handling school buses, other large vehicles, and cars from future visitors—is the necessary next ‘big step’ in getting Buttonwood Nature Center accessible to the public.

Our groundbreaking ceremony launched the project, and photos here show our hard-working crew getting the work underway, from testing concrete (all-important) to pouring the base for the north abutment, tying rebar and forming abutment walls.
