The Institute Presents All New Fall EXPLORE! Programs for Kids
EXPLORE! programs are a series of outdoor adventure programs.
The Institute is offering a series of four outdoor adventure programs this fall. Designed for kids in grades K to 5, the EXPLORE! programs will run on four consecutive Thursdays, October 6, 13, 20 & 27—and November 3—after school from 4 to 5 p.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area in Waynesboro, Pa. All About Pumpkins was moved to November 3 when the original program was cancelled due to weather.
Taught by Institute educators, each program includes educational activities related to the season. All program activities are outside.
The final autumn EXPLORE! session is All About Pumpkins. Kids learn about the many kinds, sizes, shapes—and different colors—of pumpkins. They will play a pumpkin ring toss game, and also the Wandering Pumpkin game. They will take home a recipe for roasting their own pumpkin seeds. In a special craft, kids will create pom-pom pumpkins.
Space is limited; pre-register at 717-762-0373 or via email at [email protected].
Sign up for any or all of the individual sessions.
Fee: Single Session: $5 Institute member/$6 general public.
EXPLORE! programs are sponsored by The Anderson Family Fund, in memory of Vida Mae Anderson.
