This is the first in our series of six outdoor adventure programs in June and July.
Designed for kids in grades K to 5, EXPLORE! programs will run on six Thursdays, June 13, 20, 27, and July 11, 18, 25 [no session on July 4].
Session runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area in Waynesboro, Pa.—a full 90 minutes of educational fun!
All program activities are outside, and each week features a different theme. Taught by educators from Buttonwood Nature Center, home of The Institute, programs include educational activities related to the season and theme. Students may attend any or all sessions.
During this program, students will learn about the life cycle of a plant and what a plant needs to survive. They will hike through the park looking for plants in all different stages of life, and then get to paint a flowerpot and plant a seed in it to take home!
