Designed for kids in grades K to 5, EXPLORE! programs will run on six Thursdays, June 13, 20, 27, and July 11, 18, 25 [no session on July 4].
Session runs from 10 to 11:30 a.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area in Waynesboro, Pa.—a full 90 minutes of educational fun!
All program activities are outside, and each week features a different theme. Taught by educators from Buttonwood Nature Center, home of The Institute, programs include educational activities related to the season and theme. Students may attend any or all sessions.
Did you know a bug is different from an insect? Learn all about insects at our Summer Explore session! We will go on a hike to look for insects and record what we see in nature journals. We will also create our own insects and build a “Pollinator Hotel” that the participants can take home to hang in their yard!
Pre-registration and payment in advance are required. Fee: $8 member, $10 general public. Attendance is limited.
