StoryWalk Sunday—September

September 8 @ 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm

NOTICE: The September 8 StoryWalk® Sunday has been cancelled. Please plan to join us on Sunday, October 13! Click HERE for details and to sign up.

StoryWalk® Sunday adventures for kids continue…

The story posted on the StoryWalk® trail at Pine Hill Park changes regularly, and a special story event accompanies each one on the second Sunday of select months.

The book for September is “Pick a Circle, Gather Squares: A Fall Harvest of Shapes” by Felicia Sanzari Chernesky (Author), Susan Swan (Illustrator).

Kids will join a guided walk along the story trail as they read the book, then make a special craft project to take home.

To mark the changing season, this book celebrates the wonderful visual delights―not just colors, but shapes—of fall. This clever book follows a family on a trip to a pumpkin patch and invites children to pick out shapes from the seasonal scenery―apple bushel circles, square hay bales, diamond kites in the autumn sky!

Children love the sweet verses, which are enhanced and complemented by gorgeous, colorful, collage-inspired art.

“This little book is a visual delight and allows children to think about the things they see in the fall in new ways,” said Pam Rowland, Buttonwood’s director of education.

The event is FREE, but pre-registration is required by September 5.

Fill in the registration form, below. Limited to 20 children.

For more information, email to: [email protected] or call 717-762-0373.

All families are welcome, but activities are geared for preschool and elementary age kids.

Stay tuned for future StoryWalk® Sundays!
