Summer fun for kids!
The Institute is offering a series of six new outdoor adventure programs in June & July. Themes for each week announced soon!
Designed for kids in grades K to 5, the EXPLORE! programs will run on Wednesdays, June 23 & 30, and July 7, 14, 21 & 28, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Pine Hill Recreation Area in Waynesboro, Pa.
All program activities are outside. Each week will feature a different theme.
Taught by Institute educators, every program includes educational activities related to the season and theme.
The theme for July 28 is “Here Comes the Sun.” Kids explore trees and flowers, and hunt for seeds as they hike along Fox Crossing Trail with their instructor.
Participants learn about our great star—the sun—and listen to a story about the sun.
In addition, they will also create a make-and-take craft—nature sun catchers—to take home with them.
Grades: K–5 (Ages 5 to 11)
These are 90-minute programs!
Cost: $8 member, $10 non-member. Pre-registration is required.
