Core boring guides construction of bridge
Our nature center property requires a new bridge capable of handling school buses and other large vehicles, as well as cars from future visitors.
We are excited to show you some photos of one of the preliminary steps in building the bridge—core boring.
Core boring—or core drilling—is a process using a hollow drill to bore holes through surfaces. It is a technique used to investigate and determine soil composition and other conditions at a site where construction is planned.
In our case, core samples from the area on which our bridge will be constructed provide critical information about the density, chemical composition, strength, and other properties of the land, providing guidance in the planning and construction of our bridge.
