Event Series: StoryWalk®

StoryWalk® with Buttonwood

July 12 @ 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

Held at Pine Hill Recreation Area near Waynesboro, Pennsylvania.
Our guided walks along the StoryWalk® trail continue…

This summer’s book is Summer Color! by Diana Murray, illustrated by Zoe Persico.

Come enjoy some summer fun! During the walk, participants will go on a color scavenger hunt. The walk will be followed by popsicles to cool off—and some summer fun!

The book celebrates the colors of summer through the adventures of two children exploring the outdoors, even during a rainstorm. Lyrical verse and charming illustrations highlight nature’s vibrant palette, from green treetops to pink petals, making it a fun and educational read for young children.

Special events will happen four times a year to mark the changing seasons. Each StoryWalk® event celebrates the season in a fun and meaningful way with special activities.

Pine Hill’s StoryWalk® trail, a Buttonwood/Institute project, was funded in part by Summit Endowment, Marge Kiersz and Rouzerville Business Association, with in-kind support from Washington Township, Hopewell Manufacturing, Waynesboro Area School District “Be the Village,” and Alexander Hamilton Memorial Free Library.

Additional support is from Rev. Julia Dawson and from our Today’s Horizon Fund contributors: The Nora Roberts Foundation; the late Alma W. Oyer; Marge Kiersz; APX Enclosures; Don Gibe and Nancy Erlanson; and the family of the late Carolyn Terry Eddy, with daughters Connie Fleagle & Kim Larkin. Facility support courtesy of Washington Township.

The StoryWalk® Project was created by Anne Ferguson of Montpelier, VT and developed in collaboration with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library. StoryWalk® is a registered service mark owned by Ms. Ferguson.
